Gratitude for the Kind, Compassionate Care Received
Hello Mr. Ferry,
My name is Maureen (last name redacted). If I may please take a few moments of your time, I would like to write to you about my experience at Crystal Clinic with regards to my (recent) surgery.
My first encounter with an associate was at the sign-in desk on the second floor of the facility. She welcomed me with a smile and proceeded to check me in. Very kind first impression.
My RN, Bree, came out to take me to pre-op. She immediately put me at ease. She was so kind and compassionate and very easy to talk to. Her nursing skills are fabulous. She can actually insert an IV without pain. I didn’t know that was possible. A gentleman from anesthesia came in to speak with me about my surgery and kindly discussed how things would proceed.
As I waited in pre-op, I was able to see other Crystal Clinic associates going about their jobs. Anyone who happened to make eye contact with me either kindly smiled or asked if I needed anything. As they interacted with each other, it was clear that these healthcare professionals work together as a team and share mutual respect for each other.
When it was time to go to the “block room,” Dwayne wheeled me down. I mention Dwayne because even though my time with him was short, he made an impact on me. More kindness. (I hope he was able to get the puppy.) As I was leaving pre-op, I noticed more kind smiles as a few associates made eye contact with me as we passed them during this transport.
Off to surgery. I don’t remember much about post-op, of course, however, I do remember Dr. Dean’s kind and reassuring smile that all went well.
On November 8, I went in for the first post-op appointment. Patient Access Specialist Sameera glanced over at me in the waiting area and recognized that it was somewhat difficult for me to walk. Rather than calling me up to her desk, she came to me with the form I needed to fill out. Maybe not a big deal to others, but it was to me. More kindness.
James Sabetta took the time to examine the surgical site and explained the surgery in detail. All of my questions were answered. More kindness.
I have repeatedly used the words, “kind and kindness.” That was intentional. I’m certain that being surrounded by all of this kindness from the moment I signed in at the desk to my post -op appointment played a role in how well I have done. The old saying, “A little kindness goes a long way,” is so very true in everyday life. But even more so in healthcare.
Dr. Dean. I can’t express my gratitude enough. She will be in my thoughts often for many years when all is healed, and her skills as an orthopedic surgeon have me back to enjoying an active life without pain. Thank you. Thank you, Dr. Dean.
Thank you to all of the highly skilled and caring professionals at Crystal Clinic. Your talents and obvious desire to be the best in healthcare are so very appreciated.
Please take good care of these people, Mr. Ferry. You have a tremendous group of professionals throughout this organization. Crystal Clinic is the epitome of great healthcare and they are a huge reason for this success.
One more note.. I would like to mention how my family shares in these views:
Dr. Musgrave replaced my husband’s knee, March 2024
Dr. Taliwal performed cervical spine surgery on my son, also March 2024
Dr. Yoho removed a basal cell carcinoma for my daughter-in- law in September 2024.
We met Dr. Fleissner in June of 2006 when our granddaughter, Sarah, was born with bilateral hip dysplasia. Today, she is a college athlete at The University of Findlay. In March of 2023 when her sister, Anna, sustained an extensive injury to her ankle, he was there for us again. Today, Anna, is active in sports in her freshman year (of high school).
This family is more than grateful to have access to this great healthcare. Thank you, Mr. Ferry. Your valuable time is most appreciated.
Very best regards,
Maureen
